@gajan; would you perhaps know if the Nokia 7.2 (purchased in NZ as a Spark phone from HarveyNorman) will actually be provisioned for VoLTE by Skinny (or Spark)?  The model doesn't appear on the "supported devices" list on either Skinny or Spark websites, despite being a "Spark Phone" (originally)...

Regarding the Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 9 / PV - I checked in with the team, it’s on the backlog but no ETAs yet.

My comments and remarks are not necessarily of my employer.

With Android10 update, carrierconfig app in 7.2 has the Volte/IMS configs for vodafone, spark/skinny and 2degrees. might be in testing stage for spark/skinny and 2degrees.

9PV hasnt got any of these configs with android10 update. Expecting these to be working with android11 update.

4.2 has got these configs with android10 update

My M-in-law bought a OPPO A72 from Noel Leeming yesterday.  After I   did a software update and  ran it up for he  I put in her Skinny SIM. After the phone started it flashed up a brief message about setting a Skinny config, rebooted and when it came back again  the VoLTE logo was at the top of the screen.  Not that she would care about this but maybe I'll get this brand as my next phone.

The A72 which is my fiancée's phone too is a solid cheap mid range option that literally just works on every network and has configs for both Spark, Skinny and Vodafone for VoLTE.

Oppo is part of BBK Electronics who also own Xiaomi, Oneplus, Realme and Vivo. Real difference is that Vivo and Oneplus have their own skins whilst Xiaomi(I think now), Oppo and Realme all use ColorOS.

Yeah I have an Oppo Find X2 Lite, (Android 10).  It ran VoLTE also, which TBH I hadn't really paid much attention to - until I had an issue with receiving forwarded calls.  I'm on Skinny BTW.  After being told 'We don't support call forwarding and therefore we can't help you and we don't know' by Skinny, and several other processes of elimination with other providers/phones/sim cards etc it seems the combination of Skinny, and my Oppo don't work too well with .....VoLTE.  I  also tried my Skinny Sim in my Sony XZ1 and that didn't work either.  Gagan, (bless that person !), was the one to figure it out and if I wasn't 'techy' enough to have managed to get in contact thru this forum then I seriously doubt that a resolution, or even any understanding, would have eventuated.  Anyway for the moment the situation stands that VoLTE is disabled on my account by Gagan and I can now receive forwarded calls.  Forwarded calls are extremely important in my work as I receive calls for aircraft refuels by this method and many of the calls are for Air Ambulances !

Oh BTW I also had some situations where the system would tell me 'The number you are calling is not currently allocated' - even though this was a commercial number and certainly and very definitely was allocated !

So to summarise - to me it looks like implementation of VoLTE is a 'work in progress' without a doubt.

Nope. Xiaomi is a separate entity and their phones run MIUI. You’re correct about the rest tho :)

Got this text today:

It's interesting that people are now being alerted they may be in a position to be unable to make voice calls; which is a good step.

However, it made me wonder - @gajan are you aware of any movement in the backlog for the Nokia 7.2 to be VOLTE verified/enabled?

Unfortunately - no updates from our device vendor on this one. Will probe them again to see if they have any timelines on this one for us (we do keep asking everytime!). Will revert back if we get anything useful....

My S20 finally shows VoLTE after the latest phone software upgrade.  I'm not sure why it has taken so long, but there is definite improvement in call quality, even to landlines.  I have come very close to changing to Vodafone because of how long this has taken.

I have had this experience recently, and couldn't understand why I could check my email but not make phone calls.  It will be interesting to see what happens next time I'm at that location.

Edit:  Just read the FAQ's in the link.  Maybe Skinny enabled it because I had connected to a RCG tower?

Depends on your handset you are using is it an approved handset by Spark / Skinny for VoLTE?

Was your phone a 2Degrees or Vodafone variant per chance?

My note 20 is the same, its a 2 deg phone but running on Skinny and no VoLTE.

I have been holding off the latest update as it wont allow you to flash older firmware and I was planning on going back in time to change the CSC but hadnt got around to it.
