thumbs up to the Telecom staff never the less, it was a semi success in regards to sales, the marketing department definitely have done their job. And as for Mauricio, just remember he is the owner of one of the biggest/most active tech site in NZ and a customer of XT obviously there are times where it seems that he is getting special treatment. But it is not what it seems, he needs to keep this place as open and unbiased as possible. Good job super mod.

Morning all.
Glad to hear that you are up and running Andrew.
First day demand was beyond expectations and I am just waiting to hear how the provisioning process is going this morning to give you all an expectation around timeframes. I will get back to you soon.

It would also be good to know how long porting from Vodafone to XT is going to take versus those just porting from CDMA to XT.  I can't wait to get try my iphone on the new network (and bring back my 027 number!!)

I went in yesterday midday during my lunch half hour, queued for an hour and got my E75. Was a tad miffed when it hadn't connected by 7:30 last night but it was my choice to go do it all on launch day, I can respect that it is busy. I understand that these things are just a way of life and everything is about a process or at least taking due process so on the whole, I am not hot and bothered by it like some people.

The one slight inconvenience I have is that my old phone has now been turned off this morning and my new one has not kicked in yet. Upon ringing 123 I was told that there was delays etc (yup no problem) and my old hand set will still work fine. I generally don't like to be told I'm a fool so I grabbed my old one, turned it on again and let the lady listen to the message when I tried to dial a number. Was told that this is not possible and I should go to my nearest store and get it sorted. Unfortunately I can't because I'm looking after the kids today and my wife has the car for work.

No cellphone, no real help from customer services. (This lady was a local so the Manila desk must be overloaded) What would Macgyver do....?

If you guys still have a handset that is not connecting, remember to turn it off and on again. SIM registration requires some parameters that are sent at this time.

Just in case...

lets hope i dont have an accident and have to call 111 as right now i would be dead if that happend.

Actually nox, if you try dial 111 your phone will latch on to the nearest network and dial using it - even with no SIM. It's one of the safety features that mobile networks have built in.

Not in New Zealand... I have confirmed with both Telecom and Vodafone that they won't complete 111 calls from a phone without SIM card. This is because of too many idiots pranksters around calling 111 just for fun.

This was a request from the emergency services coordination in New Zealand.

Oh.  Well, never mind safety then.

(I've tried 6 times to remove the strikethrough.  Stuff it)
