plambrechtsen: 700Mhz range is still "owned" by the RSM / Analogue TV Channels and the auction hasn't occurred yet (unless I missed something in the media).

Did you miss the memo? They had the auction early. Only JohnR turned up and scored the lot for $1

Pretty excited about it but are we going to see a range of data sticks being launched or have Telecom phased them out in favour of tethering mobile phones?

Someone at Telecom - you'd probably want to check http://help.telecom.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/26644/ and the way it displays on a phone (see pic attached) - probably I shouldn't be able to see the account number and the need to run a P9 credit check..

On a side note, good on you guys for making LTE free. I'm porting across my (+wife) prepaid number after having used XT for the last 10 months on my business mobile. I'm buying a 5C when in Sydney next week. Can someone please confirm if I'll need a new sim as I bought a nano sim and got it delivered last week.

It says all plans, so should be. Presumably there's simply no checking done at all and the system will let anyone on there.

That reminds me... does anyone know whether all new SIMs will be 4G-compatible? For example, if I buy a new iPhone when they're released then I'll end up with a new, smaller SIM. Would I still need to go through the 4G upgrade process or would the new one already be 4G-compatible?

We will supply 4G sims with all 4G compatible devices.

Did you have a particular handset in mind? I'm not aware of any handsets that fall into those categories but I could certainly look into it.

Haven't all the 4G capable devices that have been sold had their 4G disabled

The ones I know about:
Nokia Lumia 625
Nokia Lumia 920
Nokia Lumia 1020

My understanding from discussions on here was as per Nathan that all telecom supplied 4G handsets had the LTE bands locked out, my Nokia 920 definitely did and I am sure my HTC One did too however i cannot check as I have since flashed a different rom of which i know has the 4G bands enabled
