I don't really understand the question.

If you're talking about current 200/200 customers being upgraded automatically to Fibre MAX, then the answer is yes, that will happen - but I'm not sure when and it might be early next year. If you're on the 200/200 and want Fibre MAX then go ahead and place the upgrade order.

There are no plans I know of to upgrade any other plans (including 200/20)

Otherwise, any customer with UFB available can purchase Ultra Fast Fibre Max: availability can be checked using Spark’s address checker.

Am sure you can guess where I live (clue, its not the first three), in which case does anyone happen to know if this work being undertaken applies to anyone and everyone who supplies UFB in these towns or is it just Spark (I presume the former).

The required work has to be initiated by each ISP. Not all ISPs have made the same decision as us though and will supply their gigabit services over much much smaller handovers than we deem necessary.

No, they won't be sped up. there's no such thing as 100/30... There is a 100/20, and it's not slower than a good VDSL :-)

There is a 30/10, but 100/20 is the same price I think so upgrading to 100/20 is a no brainer.

So rather than automatically upgrading 200/200 customers as a priority, we have to place a new order to get the upgrade otherwise it could be months? I assume an upgrade order forces you into a new contract as well. Talk about not looking after your existing customers!

An upgrade does NOT force you into a new contract. The automatic upgrade will happen at some stage but if you NEED FibreMAX today you can request the upgrade without any contract concerns.

If you try and change/upgrade your plan to Max online it only lets you choose a new 12 Month term or no term with $299 fee and both options force you to take a new HG659b with $14.95 shipping fee even if you already have one/don't need a ISP supplied modem.

Had to talk to the chat team to place a order to change the plan without a new modem being shipped out.

An upgrade does NOT force you into a new contract. The automatic upgrade will happen at some stage but if you NEED FibreMAX today you can request the upgrade without any contract concerns.

Thanks for that - I rang someone to point it out and they were already on it... They will be removing the "Naked Gigabit Fibre" line... Naked Fibre MAX and Naked Gigatown fibre will remain (and will have their Download speeds aligned with each other)

Thanks for that - I rang someone to point it out and they were already on it... They will be removing the "Naked Gigabit Fibre" line... Naked Fibre MAX and Naked Gigatown fibre will remain (and will have their Download speeds aligned with each other)

Called Spark and they have "upgraded" me and will take up to 72 hours - very easy so all good, although still not quite sure why all 200/200 customers weren't simply migrated on day one as it would be hard to be think of any 200/200 customer who would want to stay at that speed and not be upgraded.
