Computer specs (CPU, RAM, OS, Ethernet chipset if you know it). Windows 10, 8GB RAM, i5 quad core, ethernet chipset is Gigabit Realtek. The computer is around 4 years old.

Software info (Browser and version basically). Im using the latest version of Chrome but i also get fast speeds on Firefox and Edge.

Who your LFC is. I am with Chorus and have a Chorus ONT

Router / RGW type. Router is ASUS RT-AC68 in the lounge but i have my computer connected to a RT-AC66 in access point mode. Everything is on the default settings except for the wifi channels.

One thing i noted from this is how Spark have advertised the plan.

Thank you! Someone has finally said you will get a service delivered over a gigabit "technology" (Key word) Vs. saying its Gigabit. Less confusion for the customer and not being misleading.

Even appreciate how it says speeds between 700-900Mb/s.

Thats all :)

There was a recent article covering this.

Personally, i disagree, its gbit. we call gbit ethernet gbit, even if it only manages 600mbit or whatever due to the physical implementations of it.

Makes sense consumer wise, but techy.. overhead is just a everyday thing to us!

For the moment yes, but I've already requested the second line be disconnected (I have completed my comparative testing) and once I complete the rest of my testing I'll probably request the other line be downgraded to 100/20. There's nothing I do that really needs more than about 200 down, and the 200/20 plan and for how often I would 'need' it, I'll wait the extra 90 seconds to download my episode or whatever it is...

(Now it is a shame there's no 100/50 - but that's another story :-)

Cheers - N

Yeah, that sucks. I used to be on 100/50 but the 100/20 plans became so much cheaper than staying on it, so I ended up downgrading.

While I'd love my upload to be a bit faster, it's a big price increase to 200/200 (let alone MAX) and there really isn't anything I do that requires faster than 100Mb down.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Got an email today to say mine had taken place. Pretty big jump from the 100/20 I was on. First test was 950Mb/s

come now, who doesn't need extra lines at home!

i'd be happy to pull up a third line here if it didnt require another service lead install ;)

How long does it take from putting in a request to the speed is upgraded? Ordered MAX Friday morning. In an Enable area.

I ordered mine on Saturday morning and got it running at 9am today. If you saved your order number you can track the progress here

http://www.spark.co.nz/myspark/myinternet/order-tracker/

Ordered my over the phone on the 1st (Thursday) and still don't have it - in enable area.  Looks like the over-the-phone orders have gone into a black-hole whilst the internet orders have been progressed. Grrrhhh!!!  on the phone with Spark and they have now escalated the order as it was stuck in the system - they say it will happen tomorrow.  Basically, if I hadn't chased it wouldn't have happened - facepalm Spark yell

Andrewcnz - is yours up and running?

Yes contacted Spark said was done at Enable end and needed a profile change at the Spark end. So am running faster now but looks like i'm maxing out my old fritzbox 7390 (277Mbs down/219Mbs up). Was using it as I have fritz phones attached. Got a new Huawai router somewhere.

Swapped out fritzbox and installed a Spark supplied HG659b got 853Mbs down / 501Mbs up on an active network via a dlink switch in office. Happy Dayz!

My 7490 on 2Degrees gives speeds over 900 down and about 550 up. Can't remember exact numbers, but it's plenty. You should be fine.

Finally up now (huge hassle with me having to call Spark last night, enable this morning and Spark again today to get it working - seemed at each stage it got stuck in Spark's provisioning system) - first test was 968 down and 516 up so really happy now cool
