My S20 finally shows VoLTE after the latest phone software upgrade.  I'm not sure why it has taken so long, but there is definite improvement in call quality, even to landlines.  I have come very close to changing to Vodafone because of how long this has taken.

Was your phone a 2Degrees or Vodafone variant per chance?

My note 20 is the same, its a 2 deg phone but running on Skinny and no VoLTE.

I have been holding off the latest update as it wont allow you to flash older firmware and I was planning on going back in time to change the CSC but hadnt got around to it.

It was a pre-order from Noel Leeming.  There was nothing on the box, but it went to the Vodafone website the first time I opened Chrome.

Could that be the reason?  I assumed it was the software upgrade, but maybe Skinny could see that I'd connected to a RCG tower and the reboot enabled VoLTE.

Linux: Depends on your handset you are using is it an approved handset by Spark / Skinny for VoLTE?

Yes, it's on the Skinny list.

Yes according to #gajan from Spark. Its some crazy Samsung thing not Skinny/Spark so maybe its now baked into the VF software on your phone. What version of firmware do you have?

Edit I added the word crazy, not Gajan

I can't find a way to copy and paste the software information.  The kernel is 4.19.87-22026739 - is that what you were after?  The service provider software version has VNZ in it a few times, which I assume is Vodafone.

I'm not sure why Noel Leeming didn't ask which network?  I am pleased to finally have VoLTE as voice quality is much improved, but annoyed that it took so long.

Sorry, forgot to get back onto this, yes, looks like the latest update firmware N986BOXM2DUF8 has in fact fixed the VoLTE issue on the later Samsung phones, mine now works as well. Thanks for the heads up W2krules.

Just bought a Galaxy A52s 5G & don't seem to have VoLTE working - the option is enabled in the settings, my wife's phone (an A51) works with VoLTE in this same location. Any ideas?

I assume a spark/skinny sourced device ? DM me your number and I’ll check it out.

Can I assume that that what works on Spark should also work on Skinny??

Yep Spark variant fine on Skinny.

Gajan gave the VoLTE machine a kick & my phone is working fine now on VoLTE. Sounds like it would have started working itself after a while. Thanks @gajan

Thanx . Good to know. Will be interesting to see if they will work on VoWiFi when Spark turns that on finally.

Any updates on support for additional devices. Still can't get VoLTE on my Nokia 7.2

So my wife's Nokia G20 is showing VOLTE on Skinny.

Sadly still no sign of support from Spark or Skinny for the Nokia 7.2.

Any ideas why they can support the Nokia 7.1 but are struggling with the Nokia 7.2
