Doesn't a spark imply a poor electrical connection as well

Kirdog: Why not to spend $20 million on increasing capacity of mobile network? NO we must spend it on re-branding!

Cheaper data would mean more customers. Wouldn't that work out better in the long run?

Give them time it's early days, I am sure there will be new products to compliment the rebranding.

No i'm talking about current data caps. Because for last 3 weeks i have issues: like full reception of signal but no connection sometimes, like waiting 1-4 minutes while i get connection, also speeds getting lower and lower.

Sorry about my English guys :>

steve98: Good opportunity for Telecom -- sorry, Spark -- to bring email hosting back in-house with the domain @spark.net.nz for all new customers with the option for existing Xtra customers on the yahoo platform to migrate over with a redirection in place. Erase the taste of email disaster.

Only thing is. @spark.net.nz is taken.

And spark.com is a dating site - ferret memories, anybody?

Surely the first thing a marketing gradute would do, upon dreaming up a company name for $20mill would be to hit Google or at least see what .com lies at the end?

It's a total waste of money and somthing I can honeslty expect form the 7 figure earners at the top.

They will just buy the domains and pay off any trademarks.

The trouble with Ferrit.co.nz was that Joe Bloggs kept typing in Ferrit.com and getting some amazing hardcore p0rn, then complaining to Telecom that their shopping site had been compromised. Trust me, half of Telecom/Spark/Asterisk's clients are going to go to spark.com expecting to see their email/account details.... it won't be long before it's a feature article in the 6pm news that somebody, somewhere in NZ has inadvertently signed up for online dating while trying to secure a land-line - it's the kind of drivel that makes news.

ALWAYS secure the .com whenever you have an idea, no matter how small your intentions are, you should ALWAYS be dreaming global or you will live in another shadow and in this case, it's an unrelated product.

Well telecom.com redirects to Telekom.com, which is a German telco, and I've never seen a news article with someone complaining about how telecom Nz has everything in German on their site.....

I think rebranding to Spark is a bit crap, but I think ShowmeTV is worse. TVNZ's marketing for TV2 for all of last year was celebrities saying "Show me drama... Show me comedy... Show me TV2".
Also, ShowTV might be a bit upset.

Really should have called it SparkTV.
