Called Spark and they have "upgraded" me and will take up to 72 hours - very easy so all good, although still not quite sure why all 200/200 customers weren't simply migrated on day one as it would be hard to be think of any 200/200 customer who would want to stay at that speed and not be upgraded.

It was considered and there are reasons for us not to automatically migrate everyone on day 1. Sorry I can't be more specific. One massively mitigating factor is that I doubt there are many 200/200 customers out there feeling their connection is too slow!

No worries - interesting that I was told up to 72 hours, although could be sooner, and others are being told 7-10 days - is this dependent as to who your LFC is (I'm with Enable)?

"Ultra Fibre Gigatown can provide an amazing 1000Mbps downstream and 500Mbps upstream (only available in Dunedin)"

Whereas, in the Ultra Fast Fibre Max section it says:

"In optimal conditions - such as those we recommend below*, most customers should see between 700Mbps-900Mbps on a speed test..."

Is there something different about Dunedin or have Spark failed to correct that section in the FAQ's?

I'm waiting for the Commerce Commission to take every manufacturer of Ethernet capable equipment to court who claim 100Mbps/1000Mbps capability because we all know that really means 93Mbps/930Mbps.

I was of course being facetious - the CC should however definitely be taking manufacturers of Ethernet capable to court who claim 100Mbps/1000Mbps capability and only deliver 93Mbps/930Mbps
