michaelmurfy: I am actually getting the issue here in Christchurch - Sites mentioned above are slow or not loading. Youtube is slow.

It's actually all over NZ, Telecom International Link seems to be down :(

Guess it's time for me to stop working/modding my phone and maybe time to go back to the watching the V8s :)

By the way, I'm in Wellington, have two mates in Churton Park(wellington) and three in Auckland having the same issues

I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Was working reasonably well until today, now getting connection timeout on every site. Livejournal, guardian, bbc news, facebook etc. I can get to this site obviously but even it is painfully slow.

I cannot access any international sites without https. Seems like the cache has died.

Anyone wanting access to facebook, go to https://www.facebook.com/editaccount.php and set  "Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) whenever possible " under Account Security

I've had the same problems for about a week.

However it looks like @telecomNZ have acknowledged the current issue.

They have just posted this on Twitter: "standing by ... yes we have an issue. yes the teams are working on it. no I dont have an ETA yet. ^TS"

Not good enough from Telecom IMO, that tweet sounds a little bitchy to me.

Take it easy...

Hope they will fix their cache proxy this time, for real.

That's the name of the person who tweeted. I'm James Pole so I would put ^JP after my name if I was using a shared twitter account.
