I seem to have fallen into a bit of a usecase black hole here in regards to having 1 email address linked to an account but owning multiple sims.

You register an account which links your email address to a sim. However if in my case you have more than 1 sim (e.g. phone + ipad) you can only link the email to 1 sim. It appears to be a 1 to 1 relationship instead of 1 to many.

So I cannot link my second sim to my account and have to create a separate account to manage it.

Which isn't the end of the world BUT means I either have to:

  • register an email account somewhere specifically to be able manage this sim myself OR
  • I will need to call Skinny to manage it, however their call center has limited hours (open 9 - 5:30ish)
Now I don't know about anyone else but I have only 1 email address and whilst the lovely bloke on the phone suggested I register a <mobilenumber>@gmail.com address I am not really keen on yet another one.

Skinny do you want to fix this up?

if you are using Gmail you can set multiple different email addresses that all come into the same gmail address.

there are a few ways you can do this:

myname@gmail.com

myname@googlemail.com

my.name@gmail.com

my.name@googlemail.com

my.na.me@gmail.com

my.na.me@googlemail.com

myname+abcde@gmail.com

myname+123abc@gmail.com

my.name+abcdefg78@gmail.com

All of those will come through to the same gmail address.

easiest one that is infinitely extendable is putting a +[xxxx] after the main part of your email address and you can put any number of characters after it to create loads of different email addressses. gmail just ignores the + and whatever comes after it

so for example, if your gmail was shock@gmail.com

you could have shock+Skinny1@gmail.com and shock+skinny2@gmail.com and they would both come through to your main shock@gmail.com email account. if you want, you can then set filters to put the emails into different folders so you can easily see which email is associated with which email account.

If you have a email address with Gmail, you can use the same email address with a new alias.

Example: YourName@gmail.com
will also receive emails that are sent to: YourName+anything@gmail.com

In your case YourName+02012345@gmail.com

If you're only worried about how to add credit, add the credit for both sim's on to your account and then use the 'transfer credit' option (or whatever its called) to move some to the other account.

TBH I had not gotten that far in the thought process and given the free data I got at signup (all be it a small amount). Will keep that in mind, just means I can't work out my usage sweet spot and setup an auto top up though?

Fair point, my wife and daughter never go over a $4 a week combo so its a no brainer to move $16 to their accounts every month.
