Hi Guys

I have a Cisco SR520-W Router that is just sitting on my desk at home. I currently have a TG585 v7 Thompson Router and am connected with Telecom ADSL and I need help if anyone knows how to connect my Cisco up to the Internet, as I have tried multiple times.

thanks

What does your debug say?

My views are my own, and may not necessarily represent those of my employer.

Need a lot more information - including what model do you have and how are you trying to connect it.

I assume you mean SRP520 which isn't actually a model - it's a range that covers multiple models of which the SRP521W and SRP527W are the two most common in this part of the world.

yea if anyone knows a simple config, or I will have a look later on when I finish work, and use the debug command as I am not 100% sure what the issue is yet.

I'm a little confused what the question is. You can just connect the WAN port on the SR520W to a LAN port on the TG585, assign the WAN port a relevant IP and netmask, set the TG585s LAN address as the gateway, then set your required rules on the SR520W.

i think he wants to replace the thompson with the cisco, could be wrong tho?

In that case he needs to swap his SR520W-FE-K9 for a SR520W-ADSL-K9. The SR520W-FE-K9 does not have a DSL modem built in.

Hi Yes that is correct, sorry If I wasnt clear. SO I want to swap out my Thompson and replace it with my Cisco router.

Inphinity I could do that however that would be the LAN done, but the rest of my household uses the wifi which I will need to configure as well.

Again sorry for the misleading link for the wrong router, just wanted to show everyone the picture of my router, I do indeed have the SR520W-ADSL-K9 as I do have a DSL Port on the router itself

You should be able to use Cisco Configuration Assistant to configure an SR520W. Honestly, if you're not familiar with the Cisco IOS CLI, CCA is going to be a far better choice.

Hi I am very familiar with the Cisco IOS CLI, I currently hold a CCNP Route, however that will not help me here as I dont know whether my config is correct or not, (obviously isn't) so I want to have a crack of it and get some opinions on this site, if you do know how to do this that would definitely be helpful.

Should be as simple as setting interface atm0 with PVC 0/100, and dialer0 for PPPoA. You may want to check out Cisco's admin guide for the SR520W.
