So today at 7:52PM I got a call from an private number and answered it as normal.
Was greeted by someone who said they were from Spark but gave no name or anything and asked if now was a good time to talk. I was expecting it to be something about my plan or whatever because I noticed a couple of days after getting the iPhone 6, my plan was moved to the $39/mo open term rather than the $59/mo open term that I opted for.
The guy said he wanted to discuss the details of my plan, if I knew what I'd get, if I was happy with that etc. So I went along with it and tried to hurry it along without being rude.
He said "So I see you're on the.......... $59/month plan?" and sort of sounded like he was guessing. So I said "Nope" to see what would happen because it wasn't sounding right. Then he said "Oh yeh I see you've changed your plan again, 2 different systems haha". Well I've not changed my plan since last week when I was moved from contract to open term (69 to 59 plan) but that was by an agent at Spark.
Then they kept going on about free wifi hotspot, smart caps etc. Just really basic info that you could find on an advert somewhere. Eventually the call ended after maybe 5 minutes of talking.
What really struck me as odd though, was there was no background noise what so ever. Whenever I've spoken to someone at Spark theres been a lot of noise that you'd expect from a call centre environment. But not this time.
I'm probably making a deal over nothing but it just seems too suss to ignore. So has anyone else gotten a call like this and should I careful of anything?
Cheers :)
