Hi there, I'm new to these forums.

I've just recently had fibre installed. It's been great, but I've been noticing brief disconnects across all connected devices once every 4 hours or so with the Spark supplied HG630b router. The disconnects are very brief and only really noticeable when playing online dependant games. This seems to be a very similar issue: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=39&topicid=154197

Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Are you on WiFi?

What happens to the lights on the router when it disconnects?

All devices are connected via WiFi, no wired connections. It's hard for me to tell what the indicator lights are up to because the router is in separate room and the disconnects are very brief.

Thanks Dave!

Got the same modem from Spark about a month ago and it also keeps disconnecting. That's pretty annoying and by reading other posts it seems to be quite common for this modem.

It could be the wiring, the router, WiFi interference (are all at the same time of the day? Perhaps neighbours turn on their own WiFi or start using a microwave oven?)

Need more information to help really.

I thought about replacing the router, as I've never had much luck with Spark supplied routers. It seems that the same or similar problem has been solved in the past however. It disconnects after roughly 4 hours of being online. Not so much a certain time of the day thing. So maybe it is the wiring or something on Spark's end.

It will disconnect by design every 4 hours on the spot. But will reconnect straight away.

I never had a problem gaming over WiFi when I was on ADSL. Anyway, the issue is in the process of being fixed. Cheers!

I had the same problem. The internet would dissconnect then reconnect every 4 Hrs to the second. A call to the help desk had it fixed. Turns out that it had not been set up correctly at the Spark end. has been working fine since.
