Can't get connectivity through landline (Mt Albert) and Spark helpline is engaged, yet their service page says "no issues".  Anyone else?

Cheers!

Their status page always says no issues. I don't ever recall them changing it during a outage.

Theres been no internet across most of Auckland since 8:50pm this evening.

However I just called 0800 225598 and got "we are aware of an issue at the moment...more information shortly".

It's confirmed:

Looks like we have a fairly big broadband issue in Auckland since just before 9pm network technicians working on it now

2. https://twitter.com/SparkNZ/status/607478298289897472
Thanks for the reports on broadband issues in Auckland. We're on it and we'll update you when we can. We're sorry for the hassle.

Looks like ADSL/VDSL for Northland, North Shore(?), and Central City areas.  (Nor west Auckland is fine)

Yes, something has fallen over. We know about it and techs are working on it. Doesn't affect everyone - affects a very small proportion of our customers but when you have ~600K customers, a small proportion is still a lot of people...

No, I can't tell you exactly what's died, no I can't tell you when it will be fixed and no I can't tell you exactly how many people are affected. (I know some of these things but not my place to say publicly)

I'll update when I have some more news.

Cheers - N

Would be great if someone actually knew how to update the status page. So several thousand customers have been without internet since 8:50pm, yet Spark consider that a smooth running network?

All fine here in Henderson, West Auckland. Good to get the alerts though :-)

For what it's worth... Phoning the helpdesk in this case will have no chance of restoring your service, and we already know exactly what the issue is.

If you're on hold, I advise you to hang up and read a book.

Cheers - N

ps. that's my personal advice of course. As a Spark employee I wouldn't dare think of promoting such an offline experience!
