Hi ,

i'm looking to connect with Bigpipe, just wanted to check that there are no issues with mid week slowing down of speeds in the evening when everyone is home from work?

I've recently moved to BigPipe from MyRepublic and am in Christchurch on a 200/200 connection. I haven't noticed any slowdowns at peak, but I haven't' been looking.

Is there anything in particular you want tested?

Hi thanks for your reply. I was just hoping for a general feedback, but does a speedtest in the evening differ to during the day? Is all I can think of right now.

Switched from My Republic to Bigpipe 200/200 about a month ago.

No worries at all on the afternoon bandwidth, almost never drops below 200.

I ran a test last night to Sydney at 9pm, still got 217/215.

I think the slowest I ever saw was about 190 down.

About the only bad thing I can say is they trunk Christchurch traffic to Wellington so my ping is usually 20ms or so, in practice it doesn't matter, there's not exactly many servers in CHCH.

Spot on, My Republics performance was horrible.

As per Aborto, just awful network performance. Both international throughput at all times and massive drops in speed at peak times.

Speedtest at 9pm have me 219/208 to Callplus (Auckland).

I will probably be jumping ship from the aforementioned provider due to the same ongoing issues as highlighted in other posts. I bought a Linksys WRT1900AC router from them. Can I still use this with Big Pipe?

Big Pipes FB page seems to show the majority of the feedback is negative. Is it justified?

Hi what Jase said - most people who have a good experience don't tend to go on Facebook and post about it, so you'll always skew towards negative

We keep our reviews open to make sure customers have a channel to escalate issues to us and we can fix the problem.  Most ISPs prefer to block Facebook reviews. It makes their FB page look 'better' but means they miss out on the opportunity to correct customers problems.

Good point! New week resolution time ... Start posting positive reviews on company FB pages.
