Hi all,

Over the past week my galaxy S6 bought new in April 2015 started to completely run through its battery midway through the day even though it was charging to 100% overnight And then after Several days of that one morning it was only on 60% after charging all night it just died during the morning and I haven't been able to charge it since. I have tried multiple different charging cables and wall plugs since then and nothing has been able to charge it.

The phone is 22 months old so still within warranty period. Does anyone think I have a chance in hell of getting Spark to fix this considering there is a crack in the glass on the back from November last year.

I am willing to fight them on the CGA and the phone being of acceptable quality to last for a reasonable time ie the warranty period. Because it's pretty clear to me that the battery has just gone in the phone. I wonder if this is something to do with the fast charging.

I just don't want t waste $85 on an inspection fee if I'm going to get nowhere because of the crack. I'm aware that they can't charge the inspection fee if it's covered under warranty.

Yes, he's trying to work out whether the cracked screen will stop them from honouring the warranty.

Battery's wear out over time. Is this a "fault" or normal wear and tear? Also are batteries covered under the warranty? I don't know the answer just suggesting some roadblocks you might like to consider.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

This is a very grey area re batteries. I have spoken to telegistics before re other warranties and generally speaking battery warranties fall under 6 months however if they are in a device where they cannot be removed, are covered for 24months. As I said it's a very grey area for sure.

With regards to a crack on the device, have again been told that would void the warranty! at the end of the day you may need to send it in and be advised by a repair agent.

If a batt doesnt last 2 years , then I would say its just bad design overall: either underspeced batt, cheap & nasty batt, designed charge/discharge rate
too high.
Its like saying your car engine wears out so isnt covered by warranty(wear & tear)
Like saying batts are known to explode & catch fire, so thats not covered by warranty either :-)

The phone charges fine with one of Samsung's wireless chargers so it seems the charging port connector is at fault here. Thats most likely definitely something Spark would say is wear and tear

from my experience with telegistics the charge port would be covered however it is more than likely to be the charger it's self or the cable
I have experienced this for myself when a crappy/failing usb cable would charge but at a very slow rate; I found that the phone would say 100% SOC but drop off VERY quickly
solution replace the USB cable and I was away laughing...
