Hi all

Is anybody else having issues with mobile internet on their phones today?

When I turn off Wi-Fi, my phone (Galaxy S7) informs me I have no internet access. There is no 3G/4G symbol next to the network indicator. My fathers phone (Nexus 5X) also has no mobile internet, so I don't think it's an issue with my phone.

Both of us are on Spark prepaid, both of us are using $19 packs (his is standard, mine music).

I discovered it when I went to look something up online while I was in town, and found I had no internet.

Cheers,

Sherman

Also worth rebooting phone - I had no service till I restarted mine today after the Spark issues.

Still down in Akl CBD. Rebooted my phone - it's saying my selected service (AT&T) is unavailable. I last used AT&T in April!

Right after that it came back online and now seems fine.

Nothing here in Hutt Valley.

I tried the re-boot and it worked for a bit, then re-entered all the APN settings (which were pretty much blank) and data came back up (and is still working); I did this thinking it was just my phone playing up (yet again)! [Edit - this is in Palmerston North, on Skinny]

My experience exactly on my Note 4 today in Porirua. It looks like Mobile Data is on in the settings menu, but there is no indicator in the bar along the top with the time, battery status etc. I get a "not connected to the internet" message when I open apps or Chrome. I also have the $19 music pack. My phone received software update a few weeks ago, and this is the first time I've switched on mobile data since the update. I wasn't sure if it was that update that broke something, Spark having issues, or my Note 4 finally biting the dust. Glad it's not just me.

It's still out for me, in spite of several re-boots.

It's come back for me at the moment anyway.

Still out here. Just looking at the Spark outage page, and scheduled maintenance is listed for various parts of the country (including some places mentioned in this thread), but Porirua isn't listed. I guess my issue must fall under the nationwide "degradation of mobile services" outage announcement on the same page. I don't appear to be having issues with texting or phone calls though - just mobile data.

I'm not sure if you guys see the same thing on the pages than a desktop. But yes. It's pretty clear cut. Even on the main spark page let alone outtages.

Mobile customers Nationwide may be experiencing a degradation of Mobile services. The issue started 24th August 2017 11:04. Our techs are working on it and we will show a green icon on this map when its back up and running.

The key hints to take from reports in this thread (and their twitter) are it's intermittant, nationwide, and no ETA.

So I wouldn't go spending time even trying to fix or bypass it as if its serious enough for the homepage (and actually updated as it happened) its pretty major and your fixes are likely to be undone.

Well, my 'fix' took all of about 2-3 minutes, and I've had data working ever since, so I'd say that was a worthwhile investment! Sure, it may not stick, but by that point I'll probably be home anyway...
