I bought 4 Vodafone Blackberry Curves earlier this year - all with standard BB voice plans + data plans.
The problem that we've recently discovered is that it's impossible to call these phones from:
(1) Telecom Mobiles
(2) Telecom Landlines
(3) Telstra Home Lines
When you try calling from these locations, you get a Telecom message saying that the number is invalid or inactive.
We can call them from:
(1) Vodafone mobiles
(2) Telstra Business lines
We have:
- Put the SIM cards into other standard phones
- Swapped the SIM cards (ie got new SIM cards issued)
But we keep getting the same message.
Our local Vodafone account staff were excellent (and tried everything they could), but Vodafone engineering were pretty much useless. I totally understand that it's quite possibly not a problem at their end, but having a monthly spend of thousands of dollars per month, I would have thought they would have put more energy into solving the problem for this.
Roll on November...
Anyway, back to the problem - anybody got any ideas?
It sounds like some sort of inter-connect issue - but NOBODY wants to know about it.
Vodafone don't want to know, and Telecom (while sympathetic, especially since I am also a Telecom mobile customer) haven't got a major incentive to solve it as there isn't a lot of money in it for them.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.
Nigel H.
