I was watching a program on TVNZOD and a skinny ad came on, the one that’s a spoof of The Matrix.

I could have sworn the guy said “Hey Paul” (my first name)

i wasn’t sure if I just misheard what he had said or if he was actually saying my name. Another poster in  another thread has said a similar thing happened to him while watching TVNZOD. Although he didn’t specify what company the ad was for.

can anyone confirm if this is what happened? I feel very creeped out by it and if it is true will seriously consider switching companies as I’m already a skinny customer.

ETA the other poster in the other thread confirmed it was a skinny ad and pointed me in the direction of this article.

Got the same ad a few weeks back watching TVNZ OnDemand. Freaked me out. Thought I was hearing things. Had an ad from another company that did it too but can’t remember which company it was for.

So that's what they use the information for when you sign up for your profile.

A TVNZ profile didn't use to be required for online streaming.
