i've been using a sierra wireless t-stick from telecom for the last few weeks, it works alright but seems to be crashing an awful lot the last couple of days. I have to use ctrl-alt-esc to bring up the task manager thing to close it, then restart it. would anyone know why?

also sometimes it has a ref flashing light, or constant red light (like now), and sometimes the light flashing is blue or a constant blue, does anyonw know what the different coloured lights mean?

thanks.

Had a client on one running vista didn't seem to give any issues. Is your OS on your Laptop up to date with service packs etc etc?

i've not done any updates for a while, worried about using too much of my data allowance! i'm just in the process of doing one now and funnily enough there is an update for the t-stick, so maybe that will help. the red light has gone and now its blue. i wonder if the red light might mean poor reception as we are a way from town.

I have been using one quite a bit within the past 3 weeks and I haven't had any crashing issues with XP.

mine still crashses several times a day!!! perhaps i should speak to telecom about it eh! i cannot close it with ctr-alt-esc as it stops responding very frequently. other than that its not so bad considering we're quite far away from town.

Hi,

1/ I recommend uninstalling the Sierra Wireless watcher software. You'll then need another way to connect to the Internet.

2/ Next I recommend making sure you've got the latest Operating System patches/updates for your computer.

3/ I've had the T-Stick working on the OS's that Sierra Wireless say is compatible with:

* Windows Vista
* Windows XP (Home and Professional versions) with Service Pack 2 or later
* Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 and Update Roll-up

3/ As a suggestion, I recommend checking your PC is using English NZ, if not you may wish to revert to English NZ.

4/ I recommend installing the Sierra Wireless watcher software again.

5/ Once installed check the Release Firmware, Hardware and Watcher Software versions are:

Interface Software:
Watcher 7.4.1.0 build 1739

Hardware Version:
C597 Rev 1.0

Firmware Version:
P2314500

beforenightfalls: also sometimes it has a ref flashing light, or constant red light (like now), and sometimes the light flashing is blue or a constant blue, does anyonw know what the different coloured lights mean?

-  Constant Red means no signal
-  Flashing Red means signal is too low for a reliable connection

-  Constant Blue means connection without activity
-  Flashing Blue means connection with activity
