Hey all

Just bought a Spark Sim from the dairy. When I look up the product online, they have newer packaging and they say '4G Sim' on the newer ones. Would a slightly older SIM be incompatible with 4G? Just confused as the newer ones use 4G in the title.

When Spark first launched 4G - the '4G' SIMs were required to connect to the new HSS. This was resolved years & years ago - and ALL Spark SIMs are now 4G & 5G capable. That doesn't necessarily mean all users are provisioned for all services - but the physical SIM itself is all good.

A SIM card manufactured in 1992 would work

:) I'd be impressed if you have a Spark SIM card from 1992 though!

However, a 'Telecom' SIM from 2009 should still work on 4G / 5G.

Thanks! That's good to know. I'm going travelling soon. Would I be right to think that the resolution means it'll be fine overseas as well? Countries are Singapore, India, Dubai if that matters :)

Roaming is a network feature not SIM card related as such

Also features like VoLTE roaming require handset support
