Hi guys...
ive been noticing on my prepaid account that my credit has been shrinking!!! even though everything should be all covered for.. ie TEXT and DATA.. as i have respective plans for each... 600 sms and 120mb data..
the funny thing is.. even though i dont have any calls.. and just send and i mean JUST SEND... money was going down...
so i called to inquire why this is the case..
and the operator.. whom i seem to get her all the time!!! she must be so annoyed with me by now..!!!
has advised me that i have been sending picture messages... when i have not been...
and so asked for the date of those.. so that i can work it out... and from what i can gather.. it seems that any messages that are too long.. gets counted as picture... am i correct??
anyone else know about this.. or experiencing it.. and know a SOLUTION??? so that i dont over spend.... ????

update... i have not even sent a text now... and it still has done down in credit...
what is going on with telecom???
can someone from telecom help me please?

and just now refreshed my account.. and i had not used it at all!! but its gone down again!!!!

well i have an iphone...
but i have monthly data.. of 120mb... so why is it using my money? on top of my given credit given that i still have 100mb left!!! this is ridiculous...

what handset do you have (make and model) as this could be "auto-convert" the message to MMS when you hit an icon, add a smiley or exceed 160 chars (based on a device setting)

If you're not doing anything, and you have a data plan, the only thing I can think of is an active call that's using credit. There's not a green bar at the top of the screen saying 'tap here to return to call' ?

Other than that, unless you actually have an MMS client installed, then it's not picture messages. Call them back and say that it can't be picture messages, as your phone doesn't support them, and get them to investigate.

no not at all... and since i ve been writing here... i had not sent text at all... and got 3g on at the mo to check the balance..
but its GONE down again! i dont know why... its bugging me!! and costing me... somene help please..

We are trying to help.

Try turning off the phone for a while, and monitor using another method to see if your balance is dropping (do you have a PC you can try on?), or wait and check after you turn the phone back on... if the balance has still dropped, then it's not your phone, and you need to chase Telecom.

yeah i have computer but i dont know if i can check it online from my compiuter...
i have checked again and its gone down even more...

what i can see now is that they are charging me for data.. when they have already charged me for it...
cos only thing that has changed now since last time was for me to check for credit.. and allowance has gone down by about0.4mb.. and eaten more $$

sounds very much like a phantom app is sending some stuff though MMS, check if they are 50c or 20c charges, you should be able to see actual usage details from your-telecom, recent activity It will say stuff like "to 027 xxxxxxx 1 txt", "internet data 740kb" to "0800 747 300 00:13:50"

edit: or that ^^^^ . But being an iPhone, it seems a little unlikely? Unless it's jailbroken and there's an app installed to do that.

You don't have email configured on the phone? it could be polling your mail account.

You need to call them, if you have purchased a data block, and it's costing you money, then it appears the data allowance hasn't been applied correctly. Get on the phone and talk to Telecom..

yeah it shows that its data.... that has been using.. like 66kb... 455kb.. and 65kb etc..
since last text.. which is what i am doing to check using my data allowance.. but why am i getting charged for it?

just calling telecom now... and demaniding something to be done...
in the last hour... already lost money...
and been cut out.... several times! by the operator.. and having to wait for them to come back when i call again..
oh this is non sense...
pathetic...

been hung up on for the 5th time.. they are like we will check please wait blah blah blah...
my normally cool and calm patience is running thin... dont know what i will be saying next!

someone from telecom out there GZ'ners.... please help me....
