You will need to contact 123 for a consumer or 126 for a business customer (or better still visit your local dealer) and inform them. They should get the phone checked at switch, or reset your entire voicemail.

He's right. I am afraid all your actions on the Harrier itself are not going to fix this, since the notification comes from the voicemail system provided by Telecom New Zealand. Contact 123 and ask them to reset the mailbox, or something like that.

Long-standing known problem that can apparently happen to any mobile with Telecom voicemail - have had it happen a couple of times personally - 123 refers to it as "phantom voicemail" and they know how to reset it - takes a few hours to take effect.

Next time there is a new message left on the phone (not the phantom one you are receiving) or leave a message there yourself then go in and delete that message but when finished and message is confirmed deleted then press "*" once, wait for voice mail to ask for mailbox number then press "*" again and it should say 'goodbye" and hang up. Should fix it.

It should not fix it - I know because I coded the "*" function in the TNZ voice mail. I also wrote the specs for the fix for the phantom callback, which happens in a very special situation...

I Called them,

they have done a reset to my mailbox till today it still not working.

I thinking (maybe) it's coming of the previous owner's voice mailbox.

can this be changed ?

Telecom still can't do anymore.

did you have to setup your mailbox again after they reset it? if not then they have not done a reset and have fobbed you off

That depends on how they reset the cellular secretary service. The rep may have choose to attempt to solve the problem by resetting the service at switch level. The CSR may have also tired various notification options. A Full reset will mean cellsec is completely removed, and re-added in which case, yes you will need to set up your greeting once again.
