MattD. problem is.. Holy Grail is in dead centre of the CBD and... Spags is a bit near the edge of CBD though.

The Casino is half way, and they have the big screen above the floor there, we could stop off and see the start of the game while loosing all the money we saved by eating free Pizza...

I don't think there are any decent sports bars out the Victoria side of the CBD are there?

Dude, it's straight up Victoria street through the square near the Crown Plaza.. it's like a 15-20 min walk at most...

Chiefie... was just looking at the map when you responded and thinking the same... maybe somewhere half way? or something near Bealey Ave?  Speights Ale house?

never been but how does Jolly Poacher stack up? opposite casino?

Hey just had the toughest gristle at Sophies... cool environment but not Steak!!
Served what looked medium well but should have been medium rare and the knife couldn't cut it.

edit: Nick.. no probs with the walk if that is a better venue! just call it

I told a fib... Carlton Corner has a bar, and with big screens.

Or the "Jolly Poarcher" down Victoria St towards Crown Plaza, or casino as suggested. Then The Garage or the Irish Bar (near around there) at Gloucester St, which opposite the CC Library. By then We'd be near central of CBD.

Clearly wasn't thinking at all - The Grail is excellent....  I'm not so keen on old Pa bars :-)
