But are you using the same DNS as the others, or something external (DynDNS, OpenDNS, Google DNS)?

How did you test? NSLookup? Have you rebooted after changing DNS (otherwise it stills old the old non-valid entries).

As I said I can't reproduce load problems here today.

Ok... And is this forum loading issue still happening? If you open Firefox and run Firebug can you see what resource the browser is waiting on?

None of our servers reply to ping. Just needed to know if the server names resolved to an IP.

Also, View Source and look at the bottom of the page. You should see a HTML comment with "--- page created in [ ] ms --"

This is how long it took for our server to create the page. Check it a page is finished loadng.

Everything seems to be working OK this morning, but I did experience the stalls yesterday as well.

Here is the result from this page:

I have no idea if that's good, bad or indifferent, but from my layman's perspective, 184ms seems quite a long time for a web server to produce a page???

It's a good number for our server. It would be bad if it was longer than 800ms in my experience...

I've benchmarked Geekzone against other servers in New Zealand and we are pretty much on the same level of time to initial response.

I've completed pretty much all changes I wanted to in our scripts and database - for now.

Could you guys go around the forums and let me know how it performs now?
