The direct message section needs an overhaul, it's painful that incoming and outgoing messages are in different places.

What yellow highlighted box? I can’t see anything relating to Live. I’m using Safari on iPad.

Hah you know what, I thought I knew what Geekzone live was but in fact I did not!  Its pretty much what I asked for in my earlier post and with a bit of tidying up would be an awesome front page for me.  Geekzone live should not, in my opinion, open a new tab and should just load the page into the current tab.

From experience, people have a narrow vision. There are menu options on top and there are useful links on the bottom. Those are never clicked.  There's a link to Geekzone Live on the front page and a link to Geekzone Live on all forums pages (on the sidebar). Those are never clicked. 

I like the current homepage it feels like home. I like the news tidbits etc. I often come to GZ just to browse the home page.

I actually really like the latest discussions up the right hand side. But possibly having that still there, with the forums a bit more prominent could work?

I obviously don't scroll that far down the home page very often.

OMG geekzone live! Where have you been all my life, apart from right there under my nose!

Add the thingy that says I have new messages and it be perfect.

I too didn't know live existed.. 

I often use a 14" laptop and find 40% of the screen is taken up with the browser and GZ logo. This results in scrolling from the get go.

It would help if the amount of black surrounding the Geekzone logo was reduced.

How is that different from most email clients where there's an Inbox and a Sent folder? How would having everything in a single list be easier for the user?

Would love to have a link to Live in the top menu so it was easy to get to wherever you are on the site.
