Perfect example of this is the Trump thread.

Why not make it possible to just hide certain threads? I have no real interest in getting involved in that Donald Trump thread, doing so will probably just infuriate a few people. Seeing this thread all the time on the main page does sometimes tempt me to get involved. I would rather have the ability to stop seeing this thread altogether, apposed to blocking all the left wing liberals.

It's a good example where rational discussion and the weight of evidence may have changed the beliefs and opinions of contributors.

Yeah but it'll sit around stinking up the 'New forum posts' section for months at a time.

So what - there's plenty of threads in there that I don't want to view, so I don't. As I walk down the street there's plenty of shops that I don't want to go into, so I don't - I don't expect them to be hidden from view.

Well it looks like the fantastic folk who work on this forum have delivered this feature!

I noticed while reading this thread there is a button on the right-hand side:

So when you click that button and drag it, the poster you want to avoid disappears....

Easier yet we've built in some keyboard shortcuts to the forum.

On Windows:
Press ALT + F4

On OSX:
Press Command (the Apple key) + Q - you may need to hold this to successfully activate the shortcut.

On Linux we have not developed keyboard shortcuts just yet. On some Linux distros "Alt + F4" may work however it is often easier doing it from the terminal:
1) Open up the terminal

For Google Chrome run:
ps aux | grep chrome | awk ' { print $2 } ' | xargs kill -9

For Firefox run:
ps aux | grep firefox | awk ' { print $2 } ' | xargs kill -9

For Chromium run:
ps aux | grep chromium | awk ' { print $2 } ' | xargs kill -9

Hey may I request a feature where I only see posts from people who wholeheartedly support my opinions please? I'm often triggered when someone disagrees with me and I need GZ to be my safe space. I can provide a list of issues and my opinions on them upon request so I'm able to be matched with the members who agree with me.
