The response was a timeout due to time to write the PM. I have changed that.

freitasm:Correct. But this is the bot on the good guys' side.
Just to get this straight: you are calling Google the good guys??

freitasm: Ah, ah. Very funny.
I am sorry, but I actually don't think it is.

freitasm: I think the reply is sarcastic and unnecessary. You might not know what "Bad bot" is so I will let you just simmer on this.
There are other ways to fight bad bots than to force us to donate our data and brain cycles to one of the most evil companies in existence today.
And no, my reply wasn't sarcastic. If anything, it was cynical. But mostly, it was in horror and utter disagreement.

freitasm: Thanks. I am not changing this for now.
I followed your reasoning in this post, and I'm not trying to argue your approach here. Thanks for your diligence and tiredless work on this site. I just can't let it stand that Google are regarded to be on the good side, because they aren't. If the spectrum is linear up to now, and between us and the bad bots, then make it a triangle, and put Google on the "much worse, but currently not fighting this fight" corner.
Haven't checked the forum guidelines on this, so I'll assume that it wouldn't be okay if I ended this post with the f-word, followed by big G.

Boot your computer with a Linux Live CD and use that to browse GZ if you are really that worried about Google tracking you.
Meanwhile, I'll keep on enjoying less spam thanks to Google. Disclaimer- I have been deeply pulled into the Google ecosystem. Have paid subscriptions with Google, as well as an Android phone (Google Play Services tracking) And have a static IP on my home Internet connection.
I only rarely get asked to do a picture challenge on 3rd party websites.
Although I refuse to join the Apple ecosystem.
Apple's ecosystem requires you to pay with money.
Google's ecosystem requires you to pay with data and your privacy.
Everyone makes their own choices. Sounds like you decided to sell out. I actually do use Linux, use appropriate blockers, cookie managers, and containers to avoid Google (where I am not forced to let them in like on this site), don't run any Google services on my phone, and I use Tor in certain circumstances. It's unfortunately hard work, but at least I don't live in a bubble.
@madduck Nobody is forcing you to use this site.
Nobody is also forcing you to use the internet, the services on the internet or anything. Nobody is forcing you to leave your house and get tracked by cameras, Bluetooth + WiFi beacon sniffers. Nobody is forcing you to use the New World club card or the Onecard which tracks the purchases you make for better prices. Nobody is forcing you to have your electricity connected to the grid and having your electricity use tracked.
This is the world we live in. You can either go all out living in your cave and attempting to not get tracked or you can just live your life. End of story.

And there are some places that are starting to refuse cash for payments. Instead only allowing bank transfers. As a way of piggybacking off the banks AML systems.
Is it legal to refuse cash here? I think (don't know for certain) that this was tested in American courts. Does it not say on US currency 'legal tender for all debts, public and private'?
