*** UPDATE ***

We have restored passwords to what they were in the 4th March 7am. This means most of you will not need to change passwords.

*** END UPDATE ***

Ooops. Sorry folks, I was manually reseting a password of a "ghost user" (PeterReader) in the database today to something and by mistake I've reset everyone's password.

If you are logged in, simply go to your profile page and change the password there.

If you are not logged in, please change your passwords using the login page. Enter either your username or email and click [SEND] to receive a password reset link.

Once you receive the link to reset your password, enter the new one twice and click [UPDATE]:

Damn. I now have to email a few thousands users - on the same day I already sent an email out. Not good :(

That little notification bar at the bottom of the page is very useful for notifying,as I may have missed it without that.

Yes, the bar at the bottom is handy for these things.

I could restore a backup, sure. But would have to take the site offline, restore a backup from this morning and apply the transactions until around 21:40pm. Better keep the site running and ask people to reset their passwords.

The DB backup runs daily, with hourly transaction file backups in between.

Well I just reset my password however I might want to point out it asks for ones username or email address if you enter the username it came up saying not recognised or words to that effect. I just changed it to my email address and did it that way instead.

It must be a typo because it worked for me in my tests.
