The main reasons why I would like to buy a smartphone are to stay in touch online (by MSN and e-mail) and to have access to my MS Outlook calendar through my phone. Extras like MP3 player and HTML web access are also why I am definately going to spend money on the new technology. :)

Okay, here's my list:

1.Calendar/contact list
2.Easily syncs with PC
3.Great battery life
4.Wi-Fi/Bluetooth
5.Compact size
6.E-mail/messaging
7.20+ gigabyte memory

Those are the musts. The following are contingent on #5 - IF the size can remain compact, then I would include them. I see no reason for a PDA to grow until it's the size of a small computer.

8.Large screen
9.Camera
10.MP3 player
11.GPS locator

What determines "compact"? - it must fit in a regular pocket and weigh under 6 oz. The last three items are VERY conditional since I have an iPod, several digal cameras of varying sizes, and a GPS.

1.UNIX based (sshd, telnet, httpd etc)

Would be great having a UNIX interface in the hand

2.Easily syncs with PC
3.Great battery life
4.E-mail/messaging
5.Wi-Fi
6.Keyboard

Being a left-handed person - most PDAs dont work well for me without an inbuilt keyboard

7.Media player
8.Phone+CDMA
9.Video out
For Powerpoint presentations etc.

10.Good soundcard (audio in/out)
For recording and mixing music - this would be a dj's dream come ture being able to record demo's on the fly.

11.1gb memory

12.Camera
