Simple question that I am hoping can be answered here before I resort to speaking to someone on the helpdesk (since this should be quicker)

My old clear.net email address that I received when I got dial up back in 2000 is still active because my parents have their phone line with TelstraClear and pay $4 a month for dial up internet (which is not used). With the launch of snaps new Internet plans, I plan to move my parents from TelstraClear for the phone line over to snap where they can save $40 a month by combining a phone line with my internet (currently through snap).

However I still wish to keep the clear.net email address active which would of course require me to have some sort of service with TelstraClear. So, can anyone tell me WHAT service I would require that doesn't cost a lot (i'm thinking $5 a month but I am probably way out)

I know that some people will tell me to ditch the email, others will tell me to move to gmail while others will tell me to get a hosted email address and never rely on ISP email ever again .. which are all valid suggestions for my own requirements but not for my parents! Clear.net is still their primary email address and they do not want to move to another email address.

Suggestions
Can it even be done?

From what I understand the dial up is a special promo for having the landline ..

I managed to keep a dialup account for my mum when patdise closed down for around $13, but TelstraClear weren't happy about doing it and it took a few discussions with the call centre.

Mail+ is what you need. If you email me the account number and contact details I'll ask one of the team to get in touch and talk you through it.

Cheers, Gary

Thanks Gary

Plans are only just started to be put in place -- for at least a few months Telstra are still going to receive money from my parents for a phone line.

A friend of mine works for TC and has advised that I am able to park my email address on another account  and as a result I do not have to purchase Mail+

Every month since 2005 when I disconnected the dial up account and moved the email side of things over to my parents phone account, I have receive a $3.45 credit notice from TC. My thought with the new information received is that I move my email back to my own account .. however it seems to easy .. and I am sure that I am missing something.

I also need to wait until I receive the monthly bill so I can recall my account number ..

Thanks to Gary, Mail+ has been enabled and I haven't had to endure any pain trying to call them to get this added.
