Discovered a little voice-mail glitch today. I was on a call and received a text (email to my SMS address) advising I had a voice-mail. So after getting off the phone I called my voice-mail to retrieve the message. However, whilst on the phone to voice-mail I received another text, i.e. another voice-mail. I proceeded with listening to 1st voice-mail & returning call (from within voice-mail). At end of returning call, I was back at voice-mail expecting to listen to the 2nd voice-mail message. There was no second voice-mail message. Backed in and out of voice-mail menus, still no other messages. Hung up the phone, message waiting indicator pops up, call up voice-mail, 1 new voice-mail - the 2nd voice-mail message.

It would appear voice-mail does not refresh itself with any new messages whilst you are listening to messages etc. This may just be how it is and not necessary a glitch, but a fix for this would be helpful.

E.G. ya get home, oh I have voice-mail I better check it, listening to 3 new messages, (meanwhile your friend calls & leaves an other message), hangup after listening to your 3 messages, not realising there is now another message waiting. Next morning you get up, notice phone has message waiting indicator, bummer it was my mate's message from last night saying come round for a few coffees :(

Hey wow, the only fault with the vfx voicemail is a minor trivial one, and the tech confirms it and gets onto fixing it,

On the other side of the voip fence, its going on week 3 of the quite major voicemail access problem, and still no confirmation from anyone there that there is even a problem. Lol.. guess which voip provider I will be recommending. ;)

Update....

Ran some more detailed tests this morning and are now working to resolve or assertain the correct working for this feature, I will advise once I have more info, if this relates to a bug in software then it may take some time to resolve the issue.

PS, I may need some of that Coffee you have CB

For myself, I never check or clear Voice Mail via the phone any more, the messages get forwarded by e-mail as soon as they arrive.  I find it far more convenient to receive my Voice Mail in this way as it also includes the Caller ID and I can receive it anywhere in the world without needing to dial any phone number Cool

Just my 2c worth...

I also receive my VM by email, so just depends what / where I am etc. The call return feature is quite helpful though, so I usally use that. I also get text notification on my mobile (by using my SMS email address), that includes the caller's number too.

UPDATE-

We have received feedback based on the fault we have logged with the platform provider and yes they have reproduced the problem and acknowleged this as a Bug, but due to it's nature we need to raise this through some other channels i.e not a simple bug fix, what this basically means that this issue needs to be addressed through an engineering department to see if a fix can be fitted into  their current code development.

I have no time frame on this, possibly may have some feedback today but hopefully will have more detail by the end of the week.

UPDATE...

Had a response to this Issue from the development team and that is, "it is now being looked at by the development group for priority and development resource."

What this means in layman's terms is that the developers have to prioritize their work and allocate some resource to working out how and when it can be fixed.

We don't have an ETA on this will post further info when it comes to hand

UPDATE-

Just to keep you informed, there has not been much progress on this, it is still with the Equipment suppliers but they do not have a schedule yet for when it will be addressed. they do acknowledgr the issue but can't commit to when it will be fixed at this stage.

Thanks for the update Phil. Certainly no rush for a fix though as its not a major issue.

UPDATE - Final:

Well I would like to say that we can always sort the problems but at this point we have recieved notification that they will not be fixing this issue in this current software realease.

The engineering report from the Equipment providers explains that whislt the acknowlege it is a bug, the actual customer impact and the amount of engineering resource required to fix the issue in our current software version is not practical. They will be looking to fix the issue in an upcoming release but this may not be avilable until we ourselves upgrade our systems to support the new release.

Sorry to not to be able to resolve this issue but this is purely a platform provider problem and will have to stay as known issue on Voicemail at this time.

Not a bug but an enhancement request.

I get my voice mail forwarded to me as email but sometimes I'm at a PC with no speakers.

Can the phone no. with the voice mail be included in the message ?  At present I have to call both my lines to find out which one it is with the message.
