Hi there, Not sure where the best place to post this is, as the ISP is TrustPower, so feel free to move accordingly. It is generic in nature as it is email related.   I am writing on behalf of an elderly friend who is not that tech savvy.   The issue is in relation to the junk folder email. He generally uses the Outlook program to access his email. And this is all setup correctly with the correct pop3 for incoming and correct smtp for outgoing setup with the correct settings. So there is no issues with sending and receiving emails.   However, he was missing a lot of mails and it turned out they were sitting in his junk mail folder on his webmail account. So this genuine sender was being blocked for whatever reason. Anyhow I whitle listed this sender and a few others, so hopefully the issue does not persist but what about future senders that might get blocked. As the elderly gentleman does really check his online webmail and prefers to use Outlook, what is the best way around this? Can he sync his webmail junk folder with his Outlook junk folder? Then he can check that occasionally to see if any genuine senders are in there.   Or is the only solution is that he has to check the webmail version junk mail folder occasionally?   Regards

Does the email address they're using end in  @ vodafone.co.nz/ihug.co.nz/clear.net.nz/paradise.net.nz?

Okay. I don't know about the behaviour of their email system personally. I would suggest looking in the email settings in webmail and see if there are any options for how spam is handled. IIRC it might be Outlook or antivirus on the computer categorising those messages as spam as well, so check for relevant options in those programs too.

Hi, POP 3 only ever has an "inbox"  if you are wanting to use folders, then you need to configure your client to use IMAP.  This is supported.

im with vodafone for cable net but am with trustpower, i had a similar issue but was unable to send emails,  kinect.co.nz email addresses do not like sending out over SMTP unless you are with them, i had to ensure i set my smtp server settings as vodafone in order to handle my emails.
