chiefie: So.. I finally can have single bill and quad-play!!!! YAY!!

Though might still be 2 bills, as Dean and I both have our own Vodafone account, would be good if there's a "Family account" to handle both Dean's and my smartphone plans and our mobile data plan for tablets (4 numbers)...

Hey VodafoneNZ/TelstraClear, will that happen?? Think of the paper that can be reduced and ease of management of plans and services in quad-play!

You can have all of your Mobile on one bill if you transfer the mobile numbsers, and your rep should be able to sort the contract lengths if need be.

This is Mine

But Currently you can't have fixed line and mobile services on the same bill.

Hopefully that will change soon.

Just received:

TelstraClear today announced the departure of its Chief Executive Officer Dr Allan Freeth, pending the completion of the sale of TelstraClear to Vodafone New Zealand, expected on 31 October 2012.

Dr Freeth has been CEO of TelstraClear since 2005 and during that time has successfully led the company through significant change.

TelstraClear Chairman, Gordon Ballantyne, said TelstraClear had grown from a fledgling challenger to a major profitable player under Dr Freeth?s leadership.

"Allan has also played a key part in the sale of Telstra Clear to Vodafone NZ, which we expect to complete shortly. We thank Allan for his commitment and effort over the 7 years he led the company and wish him all the best for the future,? Mr Ballantyne said.

Dr Freeth?s last day with TelstraClear is 1 November 2012.

Some more received today... It seems the cheque has cleared:

Vodafone New Zealand today announced the completion of its acquisition of TelstraClear Limited (“TelstraClear”) for a cash consideration of NZ$840 million.

The transaction, which was announced on 12 July 2012, received final regulatory approval on 30 October 2012 and completed on 31 October 2012.

Vodafone New Zealand Chief Executive Russell Stanners said he was pleased the transaction has completed.

“We can now start bringing the businesses together and releasing the potential for our customers. Our combined strength in both mobile and broadband means we can help our customers do their thing better – whether that’s mobile services, broadband, pay TV or sophisticated ICT services across New Zealand.

“Vodafone and TelstraClear are now one business, operating as separate business units, with a strong focus on continuing to deliver a great experience to Vodafone and TelstraClear customers.”

Vodafone will be communicating with customers from both companies over the coming weeks to provide more information

One thing I still want to know is what's going to happen to the T-Box vs MySky as surely they won't keep both?

Anybody know?

There was talk of 'two years' to complete the merger so I wouldn't hold my breath. This would impact Voda contracts and relationship with Sky and how that goes down would be anybody's guess, remember Igloo?

I'm a happy Telstra customer and I'd really like this deal to deliver on it's promise, for me I'd like to have our mobile phones with the same company as the home provider with all the opportunities that brings.

Basically, my guess is that you won't see anything radical for at least six months, after that maybe we will see exciting things.

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?
