Xnet are the only provider in some Fibre only subdivisions. The prices are rather high.

The longer no information is released the more annoyed people are going to be if the plans aren't up to par with offerings from competitors.

I doubt Xnet can change their pricing for plans in the old/existing Telecom Fibre pilots until Chorus (presumably after de-merger from Telecom) change all the Fibre pilots to UFB pricing.

Yes with it nearly being December and past the 25th we have a guarantee that it's less than a month to wait now.....tick tock tick tock ahh yet we still wait......Of course if I cared too much I would jump ship but I don't like the idea of traffic shaping like SS are doing with their unlimited on NDSL as this is what category i'm in and have no intention of changing away from NDSL either.

I have enquired with the Comcom about this, they initially agreed that this is anti-competitive behavior and are looking into it further... We shall wait and see.

The reason why we are the only ones was pretty simple, no one else was actually capable of deploying a carrier grade VoIP deployment across fibre, Telecom wanted a provider and partner of residential Next Generation Services that was capable of delivering a quality product, no one else was capable.... The funny thing around this is that it's still a pilot basically because no one else has actually had any real IP deployment capabilities to do this..... What you don't understand is that if we didn't offer services then most likely for the last 3 years these subdivisions wouldn't have had Fibre services.. then you could have complained about no competition and no services (really sometime I just wonder about people !!!!!) ..... Suddenly with UFB and everyone now wanting to jump in and that's great for the technology but when Fibre was being launched with Telecom they were looking to prove the Technology and basically to be perfectly blunt when looking to pilot this, your not wanting open source freeware to replace your current PSTN do you, really this was the only other Voice option out there but no one else has a deployment mass model, The 2 bit VOiP providers that are out there are running Asterisk boxes with no mass deployment model.

Since you have queried ComCom you have obviously done your research so tell us who else was capable of mass deploying residential VoIP services over the last 3 years that provided carrier grade equipment and deployment models to prove NGA services over fibre ?

Orcon's plan for fibre is $110 for phone and 60GB of data, which is much better than XNET's plan.

You absolutely are missing the point, the price point at the moment is not under our control as no actual prices are set for this product yet as its under a trail, when Telecom take it off the pilot then we can adjust the price ...sigh

Lol for the above the plastic fantastic with its 2 features , The NGA services being used have a bit more that that and it relies on a soft switch to to it not the box itself, this dosn't test the IP services.. This arrived on the since when ???

Your low speed plan is killing me, but I can't afford your high speed plan because of high price.

Like ordinary customer I don't care about NGA and PSTN (what is this???). I only know that I got a big mortgage to buy brand new house and a price is important to me.

I think this guy is on the 100kbps/100kbps fibre plan rather than the 30mbps/6mbps.

At the end of the day if Telecom Wholesale (now CHorus) set a high price then there isn't too much WxC can do without losing money. Things will change for you hopefully rather quickly now with proper UFB rollout.

No, Xnet has guaranted dial-up speed on low speed plan and actually it is. My house doesn't have copper wire at all, only fibre and Xnet is only provider.
