3.25mbit up... are you on the DOCSIS3 modem like MF?

What results do you get to .us?

No I am on a 5100 (Docsis 2).

Ok, I'm confused... how is it that you get more than 2.2mbit up load then?

Not too bad but still less than half what I normally get...

Steam servers are also constantly busy.

stocksp: Well my comment is that I am not getting what I paid for.

I pay for 40g a month (which is more than enough for me), but want low latency and good speed (I tried playng BF3 last night - couldnt even latch on to a server).  These are the reasons I am with TC - if I wanted something else I would go somewhere else.

I'm bloody unhappy.

And as for all the users sucking down loads of content, this pretty much guarantees that uncapped wont be offered in NZ in the medium term.  I suspect everyone is taking it to the max(yes I know that is how TC has incentivised you), and  that the current usuage patterns dont reflect what would actually happen if it were unmetered all the time.

TC - Am I getting a discount for this weekend's shocking service?

i couldn't agree more - unhappy? i'm furious!!!

I'm with you guys, I'm fuming about this.

I pay for 60GB per month which is more than I need but I like to keep it as a buffer so an unlimited weekend is no advantage to me at all. All it has done is taken away normal usage for me so I can't use what I pay for.

I have nothing against TC doing this if their network could cope but it obviously can't! My latest speedtest gave me 0.52Mbps download and 0.67Mbps upload which is pathetic.

What is the point in TC giving something to the customers who don't pay them as much money and dump on the ones who do!?

TelstraClear say this is the first of these weekends, just makes me think I might as well drop my cap down to a lower lever and just be greedy when a weekend like this comes along again (if I could get a decent speed to actually use it), but more than likely I'll look to another ISP instead as don't want to have this again!

I get the impression that my download speed has dropped so much because I live in one of Wellington's dormitory suburbs. Everyone is home from their office jobs in Central Wellington and they're downloading like crazy.

Its a bit sad, some of the complaints here, I guess there can be a level of frustration but some of the posts here are wayyy over the top, suppose that is the life some people live now.

Still shockingly low speeds, can't watch YouTube Videos, surfing the web in general in slow.  We're in a flat but no one is on their computers because game pings are up in the 1000ms+.

I'm trying to download things for my business but can't as it would take ridiculous hours to even achieve that.

Considering we just upgraded to the 120warpspeed plan...this is shocking.

People are paying for a service they would normally get fine, but they can't this weekend because of a promotion. Some people (Mauricio, for example) are trying to do work over this weekend - and they can't do anything either. It's not all about everyone downloading every single thing under the sun.
If I was in their shoes, I wouldn't be very happy either.

So you think it fair that we don't get what we pay for so others can get something for free? That says more about a certain section of society who expect something for nothing rather than the ones who pay for a service and get it taken away from them!

Ah right, my bad...but still my general point remains that some people are unhappy with TCL this weekend.

Don, ignoring upstream rateshaping, a DOCSIS 2 channel running 3.2MHz wide at 32QAM is good for about 10Mb of real world bandwidth
