This is the just what I had figured with our own system. We have suffered with this since the new VF Box came on sale last year, and moaned repeatedly on this forum about.

We find it predominantly TV1 issue, which is the only station we tend to watch. We are on ethernet with the VFHub setup through VF cable in central Christchuch.

It can take us up to 10 / 15 minutes to connect when starting up, and that might also require a few reboots. Many times its  a black screen that eventuates in a Channel not subscribed response. Something that never goes away and we reboot the machine. Thank goodness we can rewind back to the beginning of a program.

We even sometimes get a network connectivity message during programs, but the program must be buffered and still continues.

If the box starts on another channel it seems to connect immediately.

Hi Danoz..   Changing channels triggers a connection back to Kaltura to ensure you are subscribed to the channel, plus also to obtain decryption keys.  So if your setup is delaying/blocking a response on these calls, you'll get network connectivity or other errors.  It would be worth trying via ethernet direct to the Unifi switch.. and then also the Fritz to see where the issue lies.

Cheers,
Grant

My parents have just got an email from Sky saying they will be launching a Sky Sport Movies channel tomorrow. Will we get this through Vodafone TV too?

Thanks for that. I didn't know HDFury were still around. Looks like it would help, but the cost once landed here is likely more than a VTV box, so not so appealing. It's a pity it doesn't work correctly if you have a 4k capable Receiver connected to a 1080P TV.

Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See: www.hillcrest.net.nz

Any update please of Spark Sport becoming available on Vodafone TV? With NZ Cricket now on Spark Sport this would be great.

I stumbled on a bug the other day. When in the Youtube app on my Android mobile, I chose "Cast"  (not really expecting anything, since from any other app I tried, Cast only brings up my Chromecast and not the VTV).  However in this case it brought up 5 results: my Chromecast, and 4 results saying "Sagemcom_DxlW387-VFNZ-s...".  I tried the first one and it worked: the VTV switched to its Youtube app and I could select videos to play via the phone.

So, the functionality worked, it was just the cast list that was buggy (showed 4 results instead of 1, and non-human-friendly name).

Can post screenshot if that would be useful

This is a known bug and we're waiting for a fix to be prioritised.

Is there any way to use an air mouse with Vodafone TV box? The ones that have a USB receiver. (or any other way) I find having to use the remote supplied frustrating...
