Personally cannot wait for DOCSIS 3.1, Gigabit will be amazing. Hopefully it will be <$120/month. Personally also hope to see good upload speeds (500Mbps would be great, 1Gbps would be even better) as well.

Anyway, so far congestion doesn't seem to be noticeable. Getting good speeds all day. Here's to 2016 :)

Our modem died twice today. Not a good start to the New Year.

Fortunately, that doesn't seem to have been Vodafone's fault! There was some nasty hissing from the power adapter and replacing it with another 12V/1.0A plug seems to have done the trick.

The connection itself has been performing magnificently. I haven't had any issues with YouTube, Steam, or really anything else. We're sitting pretty comfortably. :)

Here's to hoping 2016 is a good year for cable users. I've got high hopes, especially with gigabit/DOCSIS 3.1 in the pipeline!

Here are the Wellington TrueNet cable stats for the last week in December:

Hourly downstream speeds averaged over 7 days  (100/10 Mbps cable)

No sign of the dreaded peak congestion. Long may it continue  smile

Nevermind, it's back.

Actually, still having problems. Latency is terrible and connections keep dropping. Guess I'll pack it in for the night.

After a holiday season with good performance (see my post of 1 Jan), the dreaded evening speed dip is sneaking back ...

My Island Bay 100/10 cable connection typically falls to 80/10 Mbps at 8 to 9pm.

Not terrible, but slowly getting worse (again) ...

Things seem to be getting gradually slower, though tonight is back to the rage inducing level, anyone else having problems?

Things are completely unusable at the moment. I'm seeing latency spikes well over 1000 ms; a flatmate's reporting packet loss; and it's sometimes taking 20+ seconds to load simple pages, like Geekzone.

Guess we're calling Vodafone to lodge yet another complaint. >_<

I've honestly had to spend more time in the last couple of weeks complaining about Vodafone than I have enjoying games with friends. Even when I'm "playing" games with friends, it's been far from an enjoyable experience because of all of these problems.

This sounds silly, but I'm honestly tempted to find another flat just to get access to a fibre connection. It sounds like there's some upcoming work, though, so we'll see how that goes. I'm just finding myself going home many evenings and being frustrated out of my mind with connection issues.

Seems okay for me in Johnsonville at the moment (although upload stayed at 7Mbit/sec until the last half second and then jumped up to the end result of 10.02Mbit/sec heh):
