it's interesting that people are getting slightly over 100 megabit speed results.  usually with tcp/ip overhead etc a 100 megabit connection can't go that fast.  (around 92 to 93 megabit would be expected)

skl17: I have just had the Tech round today and was told that my speed would increase to 100 mbps between 8 and 9 pm tonight- I was averaging about 18-19 mbps beforehand and am now only getting 27mbps...using the latest Airport Extreme from Apple as the router, which claims to have a download capable speed of between 300mpbs and 1000mbps- I am on the phone to TCL now to try and resolve the issue, but have been in a queue for nearly an hour...anyone have any ideas or similar experiences since the upgrade? Thanks!

Hi skl17. We've had a look at this for you and made some adjustments. Your speed (from the modem - can't comment on your wireless network performance of course!) should be higher. Please let me know if I can help further.

Cheers, Gary

I have to contact Gary to see if I can get my original modem replace - I only get about 80 Mbps tops ;)

I guess I have to wait until the orders get installed, since I already have a connection going anyway...

Hi Mauricio. We already have you down to get one of the new ones. DM the account number and I'll see where it's at.

Cheers, Gary

With somewhat ancient router.. will test with another (newer but still a few years old) router tonight.

i4n: Ordered my upgrade today @ lunchtime, by walking down to the store (WLG), where it was written up straight away.
was faster to walk there & back than waiting for the "right dept" to pick up the phone.

Second line, t-box, package upgrade, Warp 150

Still waiting for call on install date.

Smile  Got the callback today, tech booked for Thursday afternoon.

I have to take back the recommendation of my router, it seems its fine for a while and able to speed test at 98mb\s which is sweet but go back an hour later and try the same again or even try to saturate the connection other ways and it seems limited to 50mb\s. Ive tried this at peak and off peak times...

Rebooting the router fixes this for a while.

Any ideas? or should I just buy a new router?

Saturating the connection will always result in different results - for example try and route 1500 byte packets through a router vs 100 byte packets and you'll find the result maybe a 10x reduction in WAN<->LAN routing performance.
