This is interesting, so i just upgraded to the 100Mbs connection, getting it installed on the 9th. I have aLinksys E2000 router, from the sounds of things ill need to upgrade, what is a good router to use.

I have upgraded to a Netgear router and WiFi adapter:-
1) N900 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter (WNDA4100) 2) N900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (WNDR4500)
honkhonk: since my last thread was locked i will post here.
just to clear things up, i was not complaining or having a cry about my speeds, was just interested to see why i would be getting over 100Mbps on telstraclears speedtest site compared to the low speeds on speedtest.net and i am aware i'm not going to get 100mbps everytime i hit the download button!
Short answer is routing and peering, TelstraClears Speedtest server is on the edge of their ISP space, its a true test of your local speed to the edge of their network.
As for speedtest.net, TCL dont peer that well with some ISP's the path you take to reach other hosted speedtest servers are sometimes over international or slower links and therefore your roundtrip time and maximum bandwidth will be affected.
