brad_p: Come on - don't believe everything that comes out of a CSRs mouth!

While many enlightened readers here may sometimes know more than some CSRs, thi is not what happens with the public. So John Doe will believe whatever a CSR says.

It's wrong to advocate that people shouldn't by principle believe what a Vodafone CSR is saying.

I agree, and in a perfect world that should be the way. I have worked in a few customer service roles in my time and the things that I have heard come out of some peoples mouths - the people that are representing the company - makes me shudder. I'm sure that with 200-odd CSRs that VF have, sometimes one or two will say something that is not the official company's point of view. Also, half of them don't even work for VF as they outsource some of their contact centre.
