johnr:
Jase2985:

@johnr is it wrong to expect full speed all the time? considering pretty much every other ISP/Connection type can achieve that.

how many other long running threads on here do you see about people complaining about peak speeds from their connection? or threads about congestion?

When part way thru known work ' No ' You think every other ISP can achieve this? Wow I suggest you go speak to my mate connected to a Conklin cabinet up Puhoi that has no plans to be upgraded

Work that has so far taken an utterly ridiculous eight months and has thus far, at least for some of us, produced no results. Stop acting like we're being unreasonable in expecting the service we pay for. No one gives a crap about your mate hooked up to a Conklin so do us a favor and stop bringing him up. What we care about is the service we are currently overpaying for because Vodafone were grossly incompetent in managing their own network. What we care about is when it's actually going to be fixed.

We get that you're a messenger here but if you're going to continue with the condescending, "just be grateful" line I'd rather just get my updates from Dylan, thanks.

I used "we" a lot there, but that was my opinion and mine alone.

Hi all

I've just been in touch with the project manager, they're hoping to have the next work scheduled shortly pending the closure of a couple of other issues that are being worked on. Hopefully that will be in the next couple of days, maybe even tomorrow morning. Will pass on more info when I have it.

Cheers

Dylan

Been feeling the congestion real bad this afternoon and evening. Peak hour was completely brutal (though I didn't run a speed test around that time). Here is how things are looking at 9:45:

It's not even 6 pm. Vodafone, please... :(

I absolutely dread to imagine how the connection will perform at peak hours, especially since I've purchased a new motherboard and will likely be downloading a few gigabytes of stuff after I get it installed.

Better than usual at this time. Still plenty of inconsistency and room for improvement, but it's nice to see numbers that are at least moving in the right direction.

Paused a Linux ISO download to see if it was the server that was slow, or my connection that was slow. Let's just say that tonight got painful stupidly fast...

Vodafone, why do you hate Island Bay? :(

EDIT

Worth noting that real-world performance is even worse. I'm lucky to break 2 MB/s.

Just before 12:30 am. Watching Netflix to wind down. Connection has spontaneously died yet again.

Back up after a modem reset though. :/

Same outage in Miramar... Came back by itself, but I had already taken it as a sign that I should go to bed.

What the heck, Vodafone?! Latency is all over the bloody place tonight! I'm seeing 350+ ms latency in Rocket League for crying out loud.

This is just absurd.
