Hi Phil,

My VFX service is running quite nicely now since my last config update - thanks. Hope to have one or two new clients for you soon too! (Was going to sign them on to iTalk, but thanks to this forum and all your input, I've change my mind).

Anyway, a couple more "like to have feature" ideas for you.

Fax mailbox: would be good if the voice mailbox can receive faxes (like Vodafone Fax-mail). Then with the option to either forward to a fax number or email etc. I'm sure this is a feature that you guys are probably looking into anyway, so look forward to seeing it.

Call rejection: This would be another great feature, though probably not an option on an analogue handset connected to ATA, due to the lack of intelligence in the POTS setup, but maybe possible on a true IP phone. This would work like on a Vodafone mobile phone; an incoming phone call, its not convenient to answer, push a reject button, and call is immediately diverted to voice-mail.

Cheers
FC

Phil - you guys should beat the competition to the punch and get your own dedicated forum here on Geekzone... contact Mauricio for details... :-)

Do you guys supply the POTS gateway for the Linksys PABX? (to plug a couple of analogue lines in)

Hi Tony,

No we actually don't supply any equipment at all they will be avilable through dealer channels etc shortly I believe, we only recommend the models that are fully supported with our service, not quite supported yet though I have a spa3102 in the test Lab now, we will be looking to support it shortly.

As for running my own Forum...oh God I will never get any work done :),

You don't necessarily have to be the contact person. You could designate one or more people to do this - you wouldn't have work done, but the number of happy clients would increase...

If you plan on rolling out the unmanaged service for users wanting to use Asterisk then having a forum is obviously the best way for users to share information. It probably doesn't need to be an "official" forum hosted on your site but at least if you have a few people who understand the service they could help people with stuff that it probably beyond your typical CSR.

Another side effect is, people like me (really happy customers) can answer some of the easier stuff, and leave the hard stuff for you / other WXC people.... atleast until more knowledge speads....

hey, it works for MS with the MVP program ;-)

Righto. Off to call TCL to up the internet, and cancel the phone....

N, MVP .NET :)

Phil,

I think that would be a great idea to have a dedicated forum here. Italks is unuseable because of the spammers at least here you would be assured that it would be monitored. If you told someone to check out the italk forums they would be more inclined to think you wanted them to take viagra or become and online gambler than look at voip services.

There would seem to me to be a lot of value for you in having a place where your users can communicate. Quite honestly I have found more answers to my questions here through other peoples posts than the answers I got from your call centre staff(not that they weren't very pleasant but they just didn't seem to have the answers to my questions). I also think that it would help with your sales, myself and about five friends are waiting for the papt2  to become avalible then we will all signup, this is soley because I found out about your service here and then can see great feedback from other customers so I passed on the word to my friends.

Okay I think I am getting the Picture here :) and I will think seriously about this as there are some good points and benefits to the suggestions made....

Also please remember generally a lot of questions asked here are done by people that may have varying degrees of technical knowledge around VOIP , A lot of the questions are quite tricky and I have been answering them directly because of this, Sales People in general don’t have the indepth technical knowledge that I or my Team will have will have on the product  but mind you I couldn’t sell a Beer in a desert either.  They are getting better all the time but I have given them permission to hand all the hard calls on to the OP's team as VOIP is a tricky subject.

It is good to hear that you and your friends will be looking to use our Service and I'm sure you will find it a great product and we appreciate all the comments and feedback we have been receiving from this particulair forum, the people that I have seen here have been very open to anwsers and explainations I have given to their questions and frankly I find that refreshing, hence the reason I have been very open with the people here.

Thank you all of you who replied and participated in this very long thread.

For benefit of everyone, and following the suggestions in this thread, WorldxChange had requested us to create a forum specific for their users (and people thinking of joining the service) to discuss anything related.

From now on please use the WorldxChange forum, and make sure to create a new thread for each different topic - things can get quite long here!
