Mmm, looks OK. Let's see what the techs find then, at this point does sound more like a localised physical fault than anything else.

I just downloaded the same drivers 15 times to see if it was consistent.

Most of the time it downloaded at around 20MB/s but a couple of times it slowed to a crawl < 1MB/s.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the connection.  Maybe it is related to international bandwidth or the download server itself?

My connection has been stable this weekend and the speeds have been OK which is the first time for a while.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I haven't heard from Vodafone about any changes. On my side of things about two weeks ago I returned my set up to as it was when Vodafone (Downers) installed. That made no immediate improvements but I wanted to eliminate anything I may had done to cause issues.

Strange. Things don't suddenly just work better for no reason. It would be nice to hear from Vodafone.

Presumably there was additional changes after that post then because he was still having issues?

I appreciate the work done to date but the micro outages have been since the noise issues were fixed, I feel that they are a separate issue to the speed degradation.

I felt like I had a couple of micro outages on Sunday (of a minute or 2 each) but I wouldn't know how to actively monitor for these.

Are you having yours investigated?

@gaddman Are you aware of any investigation into micro outages?

The connection is performing really poorly tonight, and latency is all over the place. Seeing these bad speeds on multiple devices. Will have to reboot the modem/router, but will also have to cancel and restart some downloads. :\

Speed's mostly better after some restarts.

Still seeing ~1-2 MB/s at best in a lot of real-world stuff though. Downloaded Handbrake (10 MB) and it took longer than I'd have liked. :\

Downloaded Blender as well. Started at ~1.5 MB/s, then dropped down to 250 KB/s, and fluctuated between 250 KB/s and 1 MB/s for the remainder of the download.

I wonder if it would be worthwhile to get VDSL instead while I wait on fibre. This is frustrating.

EDIT
Tested on my phone over 3G. I was getting faster download speeds.

Have you tried updating your Ethernet drivers?

I had a lot of issues late last year and the issues always occurred after downloading. Tried everything, but upgrading network drivers worked a treat.
