Log in, change to advanced mode, Settings, WAN, WAN Fibre, Edit, 802.1Q VLAN ID

I haven't tested it, but give that a crack.

Tried this, it allows you to set PPPoE and VLAN ID, but for some reason still does not log in.

I'm assuming in time we'll see an advanced admin login arise for these similar to the HG659's

How do I tell my Ultra Hub to use different DNS servers rather than Vodafones?

Under Internet > DNS & DDNS it says "The DNS configuration is done automatically when you connect to the network. Alternatively you can manually configure your own DNS settings on your devices." Does this mean that you can't set the DNS servers on the router itself?

I want my Chromecast to use dns4me's DNS servers, but you can't change the DNS servers within the Chromecast, they always use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. The way to get around this, which I did with my old Netgear router, was to set up static routes for 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 on the router so the Chromecast couldn't reach Google's servers, and then it would fall back to the DNS servers that the router was using (which I had set to dns4me's servers).

Is this not going to work on the Ultra Hub?

Hi, does anyone know what Secure DNS does under 'Internet > DNS & DDNS'?

Does it just intercept any DNS requests from clients on the LAN and force them to to use the DNS servers set in the modem?

Looks like I'll have to give up on iPlayer as that was what I was mostly using dns4me for.

yeah, different menu. I added google DNS and renewed the dhcp leave on a pc and it worked.

Great! I guess I just overlooked it somehow. That'll keep the missus happy, she can keep watching her iPlayer shows.

just wondering

whats the general opinion of the Ultra Hubs reliability & stability
Ive only been involved with 1 so far, and really not impressed . Previous vodafone router was rock solid.
Wifi weird 2.4 issues (in the same room, not related to signal strength etc ) , Im pretty sure its been resetting, restarting as well.

Are they one of those devices with great specs on paper, but just buggy as hell ? Made too cheaply ?

It gives a error when trying to apply the change I have tried upgrading to the latest FW and also factory resetting it still gives the error (no error details) It's only when trying to change it to 192.168.1.2 1.3 works fine.

Are you sure you mean the modem ... they usually have a (WAN) IP address that is static or dynamic as assigned by the ISP.

If you mean the router, then as first in line (LAN) they normally are 192.168.1.1 so that when subsequently assigning IP addresses to attached devices, it does so in ascending numbers.

Question is, why do you want to start the routers' IP address at 192.168.1.2 ?

Definitely sure you didn't have anything on your LAN already on that IP, or in the DHCP lease table in the modem? That could stop it working at a guess.
