kennedyt: not on my Nokia 7.2, i needed to disable VoLTE to send an SMS, Received SMS OK with VoLTE enabled.

That's interesting, and good to know. Similar experience with my Xiaomi mi9se (you can use a dialler code to enable VoLTE with most Xiaomi phones). Hopefully SMS over IP gets sorted sooner rather than later.

Oddly, there have been some instances where this has successfully sent SMS (see earlier in this thread) but it hasn't worked the last few days (I give it a test every now and then and manually disable VoLTE to send SMS as the call quality and consistency is so much better even when I've got great 3g coverage).

As you'd expect, same results for me too.

Is that noise you're getting similar to a dial up modem noise that rapidly drops off?

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

SMS with VoLTE is working again today. Fingers crossed it sticks.

I get that on my Note 10+. I have disabled VoLTE as people I talk to complain that they can't hear me.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Tried enabling this on my mi mix 2 and when I made calls just got part of a ring and then silence when making outgoing calls. Cant test incoming at the moment since the other phone is too far away.

Tested again today, and the VoLTE issue persists. I have this other annoying behaviour on my Nokia 7.2 post Android 10, when I am out and about, it refuses to "switch to mobile data automatically", the setting to do so it set. if I restart the phone, mobile data works, suggesting that the access point settings are ok. it auto connects to my home wifi when i return home. Any suggestions as google has not been useful. Apologies as this is probably not the right forum, curious to know if it is just my Nokia 7.2 - Android 10

SMS + VoLTE has been pretty consistent here, so much so that I've pretty much left it on and forgotten about it.

Is it still an issue for the Nokia owners?
