I was away over the weekend (top of the Coromandel peninsula) and was getting WhatsApp over Sat (iPhone 16 Pro). Nice surprise.
scottjpalmer: S26 isn't on the supported list yet, could of course just be a delay in updating the website

Strictly speaking, RCS (if not MMS) are data so shouldn't be too far off.
I'm seeing unrestricted (i.e. every app on my phone works with it) data via satellite on an S25 this evening, using a One NZ SIM. Which is quite unexpected, especially as the One website only lists the S25 as supported for SMS/MMS/RCS, but certainly very welcome. Perhaps they're testing something?
A lot slower than via a normal cell tower, but still perfectly usable with a bit of patience.
Yeah it must be getting closer. Are you on a plan that officially supports data?

I'm unsure; the wording on their website was ambiguous.
I'm on their Endless Starter plan (which includes satellite SMS/MMS/RCS), and have not purchased any satellite-specific add-ons. The $20 satellite data add-on does show in the app as something I could purchase, but the description of that add-on is much more limited than the unrestricted data I seem to be getting currently.

YouTube working?

YouTube working?
That was not one of the apps I tested. But it should be, given that everything else was working.
I doubt the experience would be too good though; the available data rate was quite low. A few hundred kb/sec at most.
Curious to see a speedtest on it now lol
Here is an update for the S26'ers out there
We now have starlink data 🎉 (on an eligible plan)

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.
I need help, hopefully someone here can offer some guidance. OneNZ have been dealing with this since the 9th March and I'm still no closer to having this fixed.
I have no SpaceX connection. S26 Ultra and Oneplan.
These are from Saturday, It can see the satellite, but is being denied.

From what I understand, this satellite access config json file should be pushed to the phone during provisioning.

Hopefully someone from the inner workings at OneNZ is here and able to help. (I miss JohnR)
Cheers

Surprised they've gone with SpaceX. Thought they announced an arrangement with some other provider. Perhaps plans fell through and SpaceX as was their second choice.
Wonder if it's the same MCC-MNC as the One NZ arrangement or a separate one for Spark.
Device range seems similar to One NZ on a first glance.
Will be interesting to see what 2degrees offers as they're definitely going with a different satellite provider.

I don't think anybody else has a complete LEO constellation yet. So I can see why they'd go with Starlink now, in order to make sure they can actually offer satellite service at all.
I think Spark may have originally been planning to go with ASTS?
