stuzz: I would say VF & 2Deg are watching how much it costs etc before committing to any extension. It will be interesting to see what happens down the line.

In the meantime just enjoy the bonus!?

Or come over to Telecom buying the $5 Sim, port your number and enjoy the nationwide 3G coverage if your phone supports it :)

If you can get coverage

@plambrechtsen I just had to post this

Depends where you are of course, and things may have changed, but espeically in Auckland as of last year I found XT coverage to be far, far, far superior to Vodafone. Not even close.

Because I cant reconnect a disconnected old simcard so I just keep them going with the annual topup. More sims would mean more topping up.

Not at home. CDMA was acceptable all thru the house, XT is hopeless. Doesnt matter since I have wifi all over home.

Pretty sure with Telecom you can re-connect an old disconnected sim by just ringing up the Prepaid helpdesk as that's what I have done in the past and just get it assigned a new number.

Telecom you can. 2degrees you cannot. I sent them a picture of about 40 inactive sims on twitter and they confirmed they should all be binned.

On the other hand, i have a whole bunch of inactive telecom sims just sitting in the drawer ready to be reactivated one day. No idea what id ever do with them. So far i've just thrown them to anyone who is thinking about joining telecom - which i couldn't do with 2degrees - pity for them.
Don't have to send them to the landfill though!

I just sent a couple of our ones to a kid in Bangladesh who's collecting them, before you throw any away send me one and I'll fire it over to him,he's pretty passionate about deactive sims! Nice kid though,he has a blog with some of his best from around the world.

I appreciate this post is completely off topic, sorry.

Ah all my 2degrees ones are long gone unfortunately. I'll have to find out if the telecom sims are worth hunting down or not, been too busy to be sending extra things in the mail!

And as of off topic - this thread has been interesting!

Are Vodafone likely to create a $19 plan that matches (or betters) Telecom and 2Degrees... having the 19$ offer with the increased data/text/mins only available till 31st Oct is crazy.

They are offering a considerably less usage values for the same price.

Very tempted to move away from Voda, the telecom 19$ deal is very good!

Move move move... you won't regret it (as long as you have a phone that supports WCDMA/UMTS 850Mhz) 3G only nationwide coverage is pretty good at using up that 500Mb you now have.

At present the only time frame we have is valid until Oct 31,but we are sharing these comments with our marketing team.
