The data caps still blow. There is no option for more than 150GB.

Just done a speed test and am not happy.

from kapiti on Warpspeed 100

Last Result:
Download Speed: 63622 kbps (7952.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 9221 kbps (1152.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 25 ms

Try connecting directly to the modem, we've seen here in the past that slower routers can't keep up with high speed cable.

what real world application are any of those on Warpspeed actually going to see a benefit from going from 100 to 130Mb?

Personally I haven't found much that stresses 100Mb.

This just looks like marketing to me, We have the fastest speeds etc. Not much point when you can only get 150GB data cap.

This just looks like marketing to me, We have the fastest speeds etc. Not much point when you can only get 150GB data cap.

It all comes down to the data caps, something that has been a problem on cable since forever.

I don't have cable at the moment but I was considering going back to it, until I found out that the maximum data cap is 150GB. Vodafone really need to start being more flexible in the data cap department. I have 500GB on my ADSL with Telecom.

I suddenly don't mind not being able to get cable. I get the same speeds on VDSL, and a 500GB data cap to boot...

I can download from my VPS in Europe at >50MBps. Haven't hit 100 though.

When we first got 100Mbps cable I found out that my VPS in Auckland could send more than 100Mbps of UDP traffic to the cable modem ... unfortunately this level of traffic hosed not just the VPS but the entire hosting company I was with (oops, sorry).

You should be doing this test via FTP on a good file size and timing how long it takes

Out of interest, which test are you using? It may just be that there's congestion etc between you and your test point. 88Mbps is nothing to laugh at either :)

I am using the vodafone test site...http://www.vodafone.co.nz/broadband/speedtest/ where I used to always get 100mb/s. Based on my gaming of late I would take a guess at congestion in kapiti....

Try either johnr's suggestion of a large file over a good FTP server, or even Telecom's speedtest . I'm only getting ~30/30mbps results on vodafones speedtest atm, despite being on a 100/100 Telstra fibre connection.

If I use Speedtest.net or the Vodafone link that Mattbush supplied I only get about 86Mbps but if I use the telecom link or www.telstraclear.co.nz/customer-zone/speedtest/ I get about 127Mbps so ya gotta wonder :) I get about 10Mbps up on all four (a bit under for Vodafone and a bit over for the other three).

So... where you are testing seems to matter :)
