Thanks John...I thought I had that right! You may want to let your CSR know last night - the one I spoke to, while polite, was insistent that the rates were different.

They would be reading what is on the Vodafone NZ site, I query why you are asking this and have you got a charged call to a US number on your invoice?

Part of the reason why calling a mobile in the US is treated the same as calling a landline is that they charge mobile users for both making AND receiving calls. That said, these days most US mobile plans tend to have unlimited bundled calling. And as mentioned previously, mobiles do not have special prefixes like 021, 027, etc as we have here so it's hard to differentiate between a mobile number and a landline number.

I think he recently changed plans and want to check the deal was still the same before he started making calls to the US and ended up with bill shock.
